Ford Transit Rear Brake Job Tips
If you plan to do brakes on the rear axle of a Ford Transit, there is something you need to be aware of. The caliper pistons do not push into the caliper bore like the front calipers.
The rear caliper pistons must be screwed back into place, and a special tool is required. And most importantly, the direction in which the caliper piston must be rotated is counterclockwise on the passenger side/ right side. And the driver-side caliper/left-side caliper is screwed in a clockwise direction. If you look closely at the caliper body, a small arrow is embossed into the casting, indicating the direction it must be rotated.
