e46 M3 Guibo Bushing
European cars use a component that connects the rear drive shaft to the transmission called a Guibo bushing.
It is made of rubber and usually has six metal-clad holes that facilitate bolting the drive shaft to the transmission and its purpose is to isolate vibrations while transferring driving torque to the rear differential. Over time these bushings start to deteriorate and will cause a vibration when driving. Inspecting them at least once or twice a year is a good practice. Especially if you begin experiencing vibrations while driving that were not felt before. This bushing is showing signs of cracking, considering that we had to remove the driveshaft for other repairs. We will replace this Guibo bushing at this time.
